Parents who want to teach their children about the wonders of God during summer can sign them up for Vacation Bible School (VBS) at the Valley of the Peace Lutheran Church and the Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood.
The theme for the 2019 VBS at Hailey’s Valley of the Peace Lutheran will be “God is Refuge.” It refers to Psalm 46:1, which states, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
The camp will take place between June 10-14 and each day from 9 a.m. through noon. Early drop-off is available.
The church will teach various meanings of the passage and explore how God is refuge throughout the week.
Included in bible study will be music, water days and outdoor activities.
The day before camp kicks off, the church will host a block party on Sunday, June 9 from 4-6 p.m. where parents can sign up their kids. There will be free food, games and fun.
To reserve your child’s spot, contact 208-928-6539 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Kids become the hero
Presbyterian Church of the Bigwood in Ketchum will host its Vacation Bible School with its theme be “Hero Central.”
Kids will discover the qualities that make us truly heroic in God’s eyes.
People of all ages have a chance to be influential in heroic ways, even children.
Last year, children who attended last year’s “raging river rampage” camp helped raise over $2,000 for Lifewater International, which is a non-profit Christian water development organization that serves rural poor areas in the world with integrated and clean water.
The money that was raised went to open a well in a village in Africa.
The fun begins every morning at 8:45 a.m. and goes until noon, from Monday, July 16, through Friday, July 20. Cost is $25 per child or $60 per family.
Afternoon care is available for an additional fee.
Transportation will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. To register, go to pcbw.org. For more information, call 208-622-0548.
