The Cabin, a Boise-based nonprofit, will host literary adventures for kids at Emmanuel Episcopal Church at 101 Second Avenue in Hailey.

The Cabin Writers camp for grades 4-6 takes place July 8-12, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Kids will find the right tools to help them write work they love and discover how art, music, and nature inform a writer’s imagination. Students will learn to write short stories and poems, with an experienced teaching writer from The Cabin as guide.

The Urban Ink camp for grades 7-9 will take place from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. and feature downtown adventures in short fiction and poetry.

Students will explore coffee shops, public art and urban life in Hailey’s downtown, writing original short stories with unique characters and settings, and create “super-alive” poems rooted in observation.

The cost for each camp is $147 for Cabin members, or $177 for non-members. Scholarships are available. Visit The Cabin’s site at to register, or call 208-331-8000.
