Applications for the 2019 Natural Resource Camp are now being accepted.
The summer camp focuses on natural resources that include wildlife, rangeland, forests, water and soil.
The hands-on camp is set for June 24-29 at the 7,100-foot-elevation Central Idaho 4-H Camp located 18 miles north of Ketchum in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area.
Children ages 12-14 are invited to attend.
School teachers who want to learn about the natural environment are also welcome.
Camp registration fee, which includes bed, board and accident insurance, is $260 per student and is due by May 17. Late registration is $285.
For teachers, camp is $300, also by May 17, $325 after.
There are no refunds for cancelations after June 7.
Kids are asked to bring clothing to suit all weather conditions as it has been known to snow in July.
Boys and girls sleep in rustic, unheated bunkhouses and take field trips to learn about natural resources.
The program, which began in 1960, is sponsored by University of Idaho Extension and the Idaho Association of Soil Conservation Districts.
