The 91st annual Carey High School graduation will take place Thursday, May 28, at 7 p.m. in the Blue Gym.
The ceremony will include speeches by valedictorian Christopher Peck and salutatorian Adolfo Andazola Carmona. Graduation speaker will be Carey math and science teacher and boys’ track head coach James Morey.
Scheduled to walk are 16 Carey seniors. They have a wide variety of interests. They are reflected in their future plans.
Real Weatherly wants to become an art teacher and Evelin Gomez intends to study computer science. The nursing field is a particular interest of Natalie Villanueva, Kennedy Howard and Asia Pettingill. Alex Durtschi wants to teach history and Breana Harshbarger will pursue general studies.
Maria Rojas hopes to enter the field of criminal justice. Corban Johnson will learn more about welding, and Nate Adamson will study athletic training or automotive tech while playing basketball at Southern Virginia.
Jesus Morales aims to study animal biology and Paige Koudelka wants to teach Spanish. Matt Whitworth hopes to walk on with the Idaho State football team while studying sports science. Kylie Castle will play volleyball at Yakima and study to teach history at the secondary school level and coach.
