Kiwanis Club donates for new soccer goals

    The Kiwanis Club of Hailey and the Wood River Valley has donated $2,398 to Hailey Soccer for the purchase of new soccer goals for Hailey Parks. Soccer coach Larry Schwartz and Bob Wiederrick, Kiwanis vice president made it happen, according to a press release.

     The new soccer goals made it possible for the young athletes to play on an official-sized field for the first time.

 

Adult indoor soccer meeting is tonight

     Adult Indoor Soccer players and team representatives should attend a Blaine County Recreation District organizational meeting for the 2019-20 indoor soccer league.

     The mandatory meeting for new and returning teams is today, Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 6-7 p.m. in the café area of The Community Campus, Hailey.

Sign up for Senior B+ and B Hockey Leagues

     Recreational ice hockey enthusiasts are asked to sign up through Sunday, Oct. 13 for the 2019-20 Senior B+ Hockey League (competitive) and Senior B Hockey League (little physical contact) that have games for ages 19-and-over alternating between Sun Valley and Hailey. Rotarun Ski Swap coming Oct. 19 to Hailey

     The Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation stages its SVSEF/Rotarun Ski Swap on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Sturtevants in Hailey. A total 25% of sales will benefit Hailey’s Rotarun Ski Area.

     Prospective sellers of ski and snowboard equipment and winter gear can now pre-register items online at svsef.org. You can also bring gear to Sturtevants in Ketchum or Hailey on Friday, Oct. 18 from 2-6 p.m.

     There will be a “Fire Sale” for one hour from 4-5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at Sturtevants in Hailey where all remaining items will be 50% off if approved by the seller. Unsold merchandise must then be picked up Sunday, Oct. 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

 

Wood River Volleyball Club to hold Youth Clinic in December

     Coaches Kristi Vandenberg and Kristyn Rutland of the Wood River Volleyball Club have announced plans for a Youth Volleyball Clinic for girls and boys on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Dec. 3-19 at The Community Campus gym in Hailey.

     Times for kids in kindergarten through the 2nd grade is 4:30-5:15 p.m., while youth in grades 3-6 will meet from 5:15-6:15 p.m. on those dates. Cost is $40 per person. USA Hockey Officiating Clinic set for Sunday, Oct. 13
