Youth hockey benefit tonight at Wicked Spud

The Wicked Wednesday benefit evening to benefit Sun Valley Youth Hockey is today, Wednesday, June 12 at 6 p.m. at The Wicked Spud in Hailey. A highlight will be live music by Up A Creek, a trio featuring youth hockey parents Bill Sprong, Scott Seaward and Jeff London. Raffle items will be offered.


Summit Bike Club at challenging Missoula races

Seven Wood River Valley athletes, most representing Summit Bike Club, competed last weekend during the Missoula Pro XTC short track and cross-country races in Montana. There were 1,367 feet of elevation gain in each lap for the grueling cross-country.

Outerbike brings mountain bikers to Sun Valley Resort

Western Spirit Cycling has teamed up with Sun Valley Resort to present the three-day Outerbike event June 21-23 on many of the singletrack trails across the Wood River Valley and also the lift-accessed trails on Baldy. Volleyball camp coming June 17-19 to Hailey gym

The fifth annual Wood River Volleyball Camp led by former USA Youth National Team coach Mike Welch will be held Monday through Wednesday, June 17-19 at the Community Campus gym in Hailey. Keisha Fisher, former Idaho State University assistant coach, will also work with those players attending.

Welch said the camp has a positive atmosphere and proven curriculum for those in grades 5-12. Courtside visual volleyball memes, video, speed radar and other technology help players improve. Register at or email
