Brothers earn NASTAR medals from Squaw Valley
Brothers William Hibbard, 17, and John Hibbard, 13, of Tiburon, Ca. in Marin County have visited the Sun Valley Resort for family skiing since 2015 and have taken lessons here with the Sun Valley SnowSports School. Instructors like Christopher “Cowboy” Jafay, Steve Brown and MP Loewy have taught the pair.
On April 5-6 at Squaw Valley, Ca., the Hibbard brothers captured gold and silver medals during the 2019 NASTAR National Ski Championships at Squaw Valley, Ca.
Will Hibbard earned a Gold Division giant slalom gold medal and a silver medal in the slalom Silver Division. John Hibbard, who turns 14 Thursday, collected a Silver Division gold medal in giant slalom.
The Hibbard brothers also represented Sun Valley at NASTAR nationals in 2015 at Snowmass, Co., in 2016-17 at Steamboat Springs, Co. and at Squaw Valley in 2018.
Ketchum Coed Softball meeting is tonight at the Cellar
Ketchum Coed Softball League organizer Cooper Minnis has scheduled the first organizational meeting of the 2019 Ketchum Coed Softball League. It is set for tonight, Wednesday, April 17 at 5:30 p.m. at The Cellar Pub in Ketchum. Team representatives are asked to attend. Senior Connection Games return June 22
Registration is underway for The Senior Connection Senior Games returning Saturday, June 22. Organizer for a second year is Jovita Pina.
Activities include a golf tournament at The Valley Club, 8-ball tournament at The Casino in Ketchum, Dollar Mountain hill climb in Sun Valley, plus pickleball, swimming and cornhole bag toss in Hailey.
The event offers an opportunity for novice or returning athletes ages 50-and-over to compete in friendly and encouraging social environment. Registration deadline is June 14. Athletes may sign up for more than one event.

Donkey basketball returns to WRHS on Wednesday, April 24
As a fundraiser for the 2019 Senior Bash, Wood River High School is holding a Donkey Basketball fundraiser on Wednesday, April 24at 6 p.m. at the Hailey high school gym.
Tickets at the gate will be $12 adults, $7 for students in grades 7-12, $5 for children in K-6 grades, and free for those 5-and-under. They are less expensive if purchased in advance at the school.
Senior Bash, to be held after the high school graduation ceremony Thursday, June 6, is designed to give seniors a safe and sober place to celebrate their big night.

You might take a drive to Bend, Ore. for the fifth annual Bend Marathon and Half Marathon scheduled for Saturday, April 20 starting and finishing at the Les Schwab Amphitheater in the Old Mill District.
Sign up deadlines are today, Wednesday at midnight for the 26.2-mile marathon (7 a.m. Saturday) and 13.1-mile half marathon (8:30 a.m.), which are followed by the 10-kilometer run at 8:30 a.m. and 5k at 8:45 a.m.
