Britt Palmedo and Carson Mooney are the President’s Cup champion golfers at The Valley Club. Palmedo won the tourney for the second time and Mooney for the first.

 The President’s Cup, the club’s 36-hole stroke play championship for men and women, kicked off the Valley Club competition season Friday and Saturday, June 21-22.

Playing from the Red Tees, Palmedo cracked 80 each day and won the Women’s Championship Flight by five strokes over eight-time President’s Cup women’s champion Suzanne Williams.

Gross stroke scores for Palmedo were 78-79 for 157.

Playing from the Black Tees, Mooney was a six-stroke winner in the Men’s Championship Flight over Michael Sadler. Mooney’s scores were 71-72 for 143.

Flight winners earned pewter tankards to mark their achievements. Low gross champions Palmedo and Mooney have their names engraved on the perpetual trophy housed the club’s trophy case.

Net and gross prizes were given in each flight.

Jerry Graham captured the Men’s Blue Flight gross stroke honor, and Tift Mann won gross in Men’s White Flight.

The net winners were Terry Robertson, Jay Cassell, Page Chapman and Kristen O’Reilly. In all, 48 golfers competed at the Hailey club.
