The top-of-the-field Diamond Sponsor is U.S. Bank for the upcoming Killebrew-Thompson Memorial golf tournament at Sun Valley.

U.S. Bank is a longtime tournament supporter, yet new sponsors in 2019 are also throwing their weight behind one of the country’s top benefit events for cancer research.

New partners have stepped up for the Aug. 14-17 activity at Sun Valley Resort.

“It’s encouraging to see growing interest from companies and individuals in Idaho, and also from across the country,” said Hannah Stauts, executive director of the Killebrew-Thompson Memorial.

Here are a few testimonials, from a KTM press release:

“When we look for ways to contribute and make a difference, it is important to us that we see passion and excellence in those we partner with,” said Tommy Ahlquist, CEO, Ball Ventures Ahlquist.

He added, “KTM has been dedicated and worked relentlessly at the highest level in support of critical cancer research for more than 40 years. We look forward to joining KTM as a new partner looking to the future to help find a cure for cancer and improve patient care in our communities.”

Laurel Sayer, President and CEO of Midas Gold Idaho, said about her company’s new sponsorship, “Cancer touches so many lives each year, including members of our own team. KTM offers hope that we will find a cure for cancer. We are proud to help support your efforts.”

More than 40 businesses are supporting KTM this year, representing local, national, and several regional organizations like PacificSource.

“It is important to PacificSource to focus our philanthropic efforts on organizations that help our members and KTM is one of them,” said Matt Bell, Vice President, Idaho Regional Director at PacificSource Health Plans.

“When like-minded businesses come together, we collectively strengthen the scale and ability to compound the overall contribution to St. Luke’s Mountain States Tumor Institute and Masonic Cancer Center, and ultimately further the work they do to find a cure for cancer.”

Long-standing partners include U.S. Bank and Jackson Jet Center and Jacksons Food Stores.

“With our headquarters in Minnesota and our strong presence here in Idaho, U.S. Bank is proud to continue our long-standing support and commitment to KTM,” said James Grigsby, U.S. Bank Community Banking Division President for Idaho, Washington and eastern Oregon.

“For nearly 10 years, Jackson Jet Center and Jacksons Food Stores have been strong supporters of the cancer research efforts made possible through KTM, and in the opportunities their fundraising provides to improve patient care,” said Jeff Jackson, CEO, Jackson Jet Center.

He added, “KTM brings businesses together to make a greater collective impact while also educating their partners about the cutting-edge work being done in the field of cancer research.”
