Sun Valley Youth Hockey 19U and 14U girls’ teams spent the Jan. 10-12 weekend in Mis-soula, Mt. for the Great North-ern Rockies Classic tourney.

In the U19 tournament, Sun Valley (2-1-1) captured third place with 4-0 and 7-2 wins over Jackson Hole, Wyo. Charlotte Davis-Jeffers scored 10 of the 17 Sun Valley goals.

Sun Valley’s girls coached by Jo Golub tied Idaho Falls Lady Eagles 3-3, lost 4-3 to Flathead Fusion 19U from Montana and swept Jackson Hole by a combined 11-2 behind goalie Grendel Sprong.

Weekend scoring for Sun Valley: Davis-Jeffers 10 goals/0 assists; Daisy Buxton 0/4; Dev-on McAvoy 1/2; Maddy Dunn 1/2; Lola Randolph 0/3; Maeve O’Connell 2/0; Marcella Fisher 2/0; Kelby Whitehead 1/0; and Penelope Weekes 0/1.

SVYH 19U has its home tournament Feb. 7-9.

The less experienced SVYH 14U team improved in all of its four games at Missoula. Scor-ing goals were Mattie Embree, Ava Agnew and Lucy Pietsch. Playing goalie were Isabelle Andrews, Sadie Rector and Hadley Elsbree.

Other players for coaches Kaly Spilhaus and Thomas An-drews were Addee Hall, Reese Kelley, Lizzie Lipman, Lucy Lamoureux, Makinzie Nelson, Makienzie Rundell, Julia Sin-namon and Torin Vanden-burgh.
