Matt Meador posted the best round, 67, of the two-day Bigwood Golf Course championship tournament on a misty and wet Sunday and won the First Flight 36-hole gross stroke championship.

He qualified out of Bigwood for Idaho Golf Association’s Tournament of Champions Oct. 5-6 at Blue Lakes Country Club, Twin Falls.

Meador (72-67 for 139) finished five strokes ahead of First Flight net winner Taylor Goble (71-73 for 144).

All told, there were 47 golfers competing with 23 in the First Flight and 24 in the Second Flight at Bigwood.

Results follow from the Ketchum course, with prize winnings for top golfers in shop credit:

First Flight, gross: 1—Matt Meador 72-67 for 139 ($350). 2—Juan Flores 75-76 for 151 ($250). 3—Matt Walker 76-77 for 153 ($150).

First Flight, net: 1—Taylor Goble 65-67 for 132 ($350). 2—Kenny Ward 65-72 for 137 ($250). 3—Charlie Dunn 67-72 for 139 ($150).

Second Flight, gross: 1—Clark Shafer 83-82 for 165 ($350). 2—David Demkovich 87-84 for 171 ($250). 3 (tie)—Mike Shanks 87-87 for 174; Will Spiller 83-91 for 174; and Tommy Tweeten 84-90 for 174.

Second Flight, net: 1—John Weekes 71-66 for 137 ($350). 2—Jimmy Hague 70-75 for 145 ($250). 3—Doug Logan 72-75 for 147 ($150).
