Sun Valley Resort will host a new mountain bike racing series on Baldy when the Full Tilt Series of three summer events comes to the mountain on Saturday, Sept. 7.

The Gravity Stage Race at Sun Valley is the third and final round of a series that began June 29 at Mount Shasta, Ca. and continues Saturday, Aug. 24 at Mount Bachelor near Bend, Ore.

It will be part of Baldy’s closing weekend of mountain biking. Participants will take practice rounds on Friday, Sept. 6, compete on Saturday and enjoy bike demos on Sunday.

Sun Valley Resort’s final day of lift-served mountain biking this summer is Sunday, Sept. 8.

The Full Tilt Series puts a creative spin on bike racing, borrowing elements from the enduro downhill formats to achieve a desirable flow—with double runs down each stage.

Offered will be 15 classes starting with Pro Men and Pro Women. Expert classes are Women and Men 18-29, 30-39, 40-49 and 50-plus, along with Junior Expert 14-17. Sport classes include Women and Men 18-29, 30-39, 40-49 and 50-plus along with Junior Sport 14-17.

Entry fee is $110 for those 14-and-over, $70 for 13-and-under. Fees include race day lift ticket. There will be a Pro purse of $250, $125 and $50 with equal payouts for women and men, plus podiums five-deep.
