Sun Valley 5B swim team athletes clocked personal-best individual times during the USA Swimming-sanctioned Koudelka Memorial Invitational Oct. 5-6 in Nampa.

     About 200 athletes from nine south-central Idaho teams competed in the three-day short course event. Five of coach Brian Gallagher’s SV5B squad took part.

     Special kudos went to Berkeley Canfield, 13. She won all of her five events (50, 100 and 200 free, 100 breast and 200 IM).

     Bella Paucar, 10, competing in her first USA Swimming meet, won two of her six events (50 back, 100 free).

     Overall SV5B results:

     Women 9-10: Bella Paucar, 10: 1st 50 back and 100 free; 2nd 50 fly, 50 free and 50 breast; 3rd 100 IM.

     Women 11-12:  Bella Tognoni, 11: 2nd 50 breast; 3rd 100 breast and 200 IM; 4th 50 fly, 50 free and 100 IM.

     Cookie Cook, 11: 5th 100 free; 8th 50 Free and 200 IM; 9th 100 back; 12th 100 IM.

     Women 13-15: Berkeley Canfield, 13: 1st 50, 100 and 200 free, 100 breast and 200 IM.

     Men 11-12: Carlos Orihuela, 12:  3rd 200 free; 4th 100 back; 5th 50 fly; 6th 50 free; 7th 100 free; 8th 100 IM.
