A small number of high school cross country runners from the Wood River Valley competed in meets at Buhl and Mountain Home last week.
Last Wednesday, Community School senior Katherine Estep placed fourth of 78 varsity girls in the Clear Lake Classic 3.1-mile footrace at Clear Lakes Country Club in Buhl.
Estep (21:25) was less than a minute behind individual medalist Keely Wolf (20:30), a Gooding Senator senior.
Cutthroat senior Joe Hall (20:41) was 45th of 109 boys’ thinclads at Clear Lakes. Medalist was Buhl junior Daniel Butler (17:01). Blackfoot won the boys’ team race, and Kimberly captured the girls’ title.
Thirteen Wood River High School runners joined the 176-runner field at the Mountain Home Invitational Oct. 5 at Legacy Park, Mountain Home.
Wolverine junior Anthony Corrales (18:49) placed sixth of 112 boys and sophomore Sage Holter (25:21) paced the Hailey girls on the 3.1-mile course in 16th place of 64 girls.

The Cutthroats ran in Gooding Tuesday and Wood River goes to the Burley Invitational today, Wednesday.
