    The 2016 Homecoming royalty candidates have been announced for the big week of events at Hailey’s Wood River High School.

    Special school activities began Monday, Sept. 26 and continue through the Homecoming football game against the Burley Bobcats Friday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. at Hailey’s Phil Homer Field. General admission is $5.

    Here are the candidates for the 2016 Homecoming royalty at Wood River High. Princes and princesses will be elected in each class, plus the queen and king from the senior class:

    Senior girls: Jesse Cole, Malila Freeman, Sydney Baumann and Julia Larsen.

    Senior boys: Antonio Munoz, Owen Gifford, Kenny Pratt and Saul Valencia.

    Junior girls: Stella Barsotti, Maya Hollister, Karen zKrigsvoll and Willow Anderson.

    Junior boys: Andi Cardona Sierra, Erik Baeza, Ike Buxton and Jorgen Lawrence.

    Sophomore girls: Payton Bacca, Lucille Cuellar, Willa Beriker and Lily Brunelle.

    Sophomore boys: Isaac Loomis, Jakson Albright, Jovany Armenta and Isaac Brannon.

    Freshman girls: Tia Vontver, Alexandra Adamson, Kennedy Green and Payson Bennett.

    Freshman boys: Sayler Beck, Andrew Nelson, Jake Evans and William Penrose.


Homecoming Week schedule

    Here is the remainder of the Homecoming Week “Spirit Day” and activity schedule.

    Remember that new Wood River t-shirts will be available in the school office next week and at the game for $12:

    · Today, Wednesday, Sept. 28: Dress-up is “Inside Out and Backwards Day.”

    The public is welcome to watch the Powderpuff football game from 9:45-10:40 a.m. on Phil Homer field matching freshman/junior girls vs. sophomore/senior girls. Concessions (donuts, popcorn, hot chocolate, candy) will be sold.

    Today’s “Green Out” occurs for the Wood River home volleyball matches against the Burley Bobcats—the freshmen and junior varsity at 6 p.m. and the varsity at 7:30 p.m.

    · Thursday, Sept. 29: Dress-up is “Red, White and Blue Day.” Juniors and seniors wear red and white. Freshmen and sophomores wear blue and white. And the teachers wear red, white and blue.

    Today’s “Green Out” occurs during the special Wood River “Senior Day” home boys’ soccer games against Burley on the Hailey pitch. Special honors will go to seniors Sean Davitt, Clay Cutler, Omar Farfan, Nathan Lambert, Alex Leon, Seth Pearce, Michael Madsen and Arturo Valencia.

    The varsity game starts at 4:30 p.m. and JV at 6:30 p.m.

    · Friday, Sept. 30: Dress-up is “Wolverine Spirit Day.”

    “The Olympics” assembly goes from 1:05-1:40 p.m. in the high school gym.

    Homecoming “Olympics/America” parade lineup at 3 p.m. on Spruce St. in Hailey. The parade starts at 3:30 p.m. and goes down Main St.

    Barbecue tailgate next to the football field begins at 5 p.m. with three local food trucks (KB’s, Grumpy’s and Kona Ice) selling food. There will be lawn games and pre-game fun.

    Alumni reception at 6:30 p.m. Admission to the game is free for all alumni. Come and pick up your button, visit with friends and join the opening “tunnel” onto the gridiron.

    The “Green Out” Homecoming Great Basin Conference football game starts at 7 p.m. against Burley. Announcement of the royalty is at halftime.

    Homecoming “It’s a Party in the USA” dance after the game in the school courtyard, lasting until 11:30 p.m.
