Wood River High School students won’t have to travel far to enjoy a fun road trip during Homecoming 2019 next week at the Hailey school.
“Road Trip” is the theme of Wood River High School’s Homecoming Week that reaches its high point Friday, Sept. 27 with the Homecoming football game against Buhl Tribe at Hailey’s Phil Homer Field.
Special school activities began Monday, Sept. 23 and continue through the conference football game next Friday at 7 p.m. at Homer Field. The new royalty will be announced at halftime of the game.
Dress-up days are: On Monday, New York (preppy); on Tuesday, Florida (beach); on Wednesday, Texas (western); on Thursday, Oregon (hippie); and on Friday, Idaho (camo).
Home athletic games are Wood River boys’ soccer against Minico Monday, Wood River girls’ soccer against Jerome on Wednesday; and Wood River volleyball against Canyon Ridge Thursday.
And, of course, the Powderpuff football game on Thursday at 10:15 a.m. on the gridiron.
Here are the candidates for the 2019 Homecoming royalty at Wood River. Princes and princesses will be elected, plus senior queen and senior king:
Senior girls: Grace Parke, Payson Bennett, Sariah Nilsen, Josie Saleen, Abigail Kirk.
Senior boys: Henry Whittier, Sayler Beck, Chase Jones, Walter Kriesien, Ivan Varela.
Junior girls: Tatnall Watts, Nysa Wood, Star Herron, Daisy Buxton.
Junior boys: Isaac Esparza, Jaime Avila, Conrad Barrie, Atzel Jimenez.
Sophomore girls: Cassidy Conely, Lily Enos, Maria Diaz, Madie Abell.
Sophomore boys: Larsen Bier, Luke Mauldin, Nicholas Fehr, Devan Perez.
Freshman girls: Jasmine Santacruz, Jette Ward, Lila Hess, Taylor Merrick.
