Sun Valley Community School boys’ soccer coach Richard Whitelaw has been named 3A Boys’ All State “Coach of the Year” by the Idaho High School Soccer Coaches Association.

     In addition, Cutthroat senior forwards Cash Dart (26 goals season, 79 career) and Ridley Lindstrom (24 goals season, 72 career) shared the IHSSCA 3A “Player of the Year” honor.

     Whitelaw, 351-132-40 over 28 SVCS seasons, led the 19-1-2 Cutthroats to their second consecutive State 3A tournament championship in the program’s fourth state championship appearance in five years.

     Cutthroat seniors Mikel Sanchez-duPont as goalkeeper, Shea Brokaw on defense and Fletcher Stumph in the midfield also made 3A first team.

     SVCS senior Alli Rathfon and junior Caroline Estep made the IHSSCA 3A Girls’ first team on defense, and junior Falon Hanna achieved first-team status in the midfield.

     Wood River seniors Alonza Estrada (defense) and Edgar Salamanca (midfield) made the 4A Boys’ All-State first team.
