I am saddened and sickened by Idaho Fish and Game’s response to the plight of the little bear cub, separated from its mother, wandering in Hailey last week. It was heart-breaking to read that this little creature, who weighed less than 20 pounds and was described by the Sheriff’s Office as a “cute little fellow,” was the taken out and killed (by Fish and Game).
Apparently, there are some responsible and successful rescue/rehab organizations that would have taken that “cute little fellow” in. And, apparently, they have been quite successful in rehabilitating and returning bears to the wild.
I thought part of Fish and Game’s overall responsibility was to protect our wildlife.
Shame on you, Idaho Fish and Game. You’re not to be trusted.
