Regarding the story “Bobcat kills pet in Ketchum” (Jan. 29), domestic cats do not belong outside. They are responsible for the killing of an estimated 3.7 billion birds per year in the U.S. An unnatural predator, domestic cats also kill millions of small mammals. Cats should never be allowed outside. There are an estimated 60 million to 100 million feral cats.

No native wildlife is worth losing because someone lets a domestic cat outside. If you love your cat, keep it inside.
