Betty J. Werry Woodbury, age 93, passed away on Nov. 25, 2018, in Yuma, Ariz. She was born on July 8, 1925, in Madison, Wis., to Norma and Roy Williams.
She met and married John Werry in Bellevue, Idaho, in 1942. They divorced in 1943 but remarried in 1944. John and Betty settled in Boise and moved to Mountain Home in 1955. After 47 years, John died in 1991 and Betty moved to Yuma, Ariz. There she met and married Charles Woodbury. They had 16 years of traveling the world together. Charles preceded her in death.
Betty was a homemaker her entire life. She loved dancing, baking, reading and traveling. She was an avid crossword puzzle fan and loved to play cards. She was a member of Yuma Eastern Star, Gloria de Cristo Lutheran Church and Kofa Campers.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Carol Clark and Sherrie Williams; sons, Jeff (Amanda) Werry, Charles “Rusty” (Marty) Woodbury, David (Vanessa) Woodbury, Frank (Lori) Woodbury and John Woodbury; and three grandchildren, Julia, Kate and Geoff Woodbury.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at the Bellevue Cemetery on Saturday, June 29, at 10:30 a.m. Services are under the care of Wood River Chapel. Friends are invited to share memories and leave a condolence at woodriverchapel.com.
