This winter, Turkey Bowl, at left,  will be added to the inbounds ski terrain on Bald Mountain in conjunction with a new chairlift from Cold Springs Canyon to the Roundhouse.

    The Sun Valley Resort will offer the public a chance to get the latest information on its newest major initiatives today, Aug. 10, in the Sun Valley Village.

    The resort is hosting a project preview center in the old Wells Fargo building, across from the Konditorei restaurant. The preview center will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

    “We welcome the public to explore the projects we have underway at the Sun Valley Resort project preview center,” the resort stated in a news release. “A self-guided tour illustrates how we are embracing our future, investing in our community and enhancing the guest experience.”

    The center will feature information about the following projects:

•    Sun Valley Inn remodel;

•    Healthy Forests Initiative;

•    Construction of new dormitories that will boast 178 rooms with space for 575 employees;

•    Rebuilding the Warm Springs Day Lodge;

•    Completing the Cold Springs Canyon project, which will increase the skiable terrain on Baldy by 380 acres.

    The resort is expanding the seating and dining areas within the Warm Springs Day Lodge, and is relocating the bar to the front of the building to enhance the view of Baldy in the background.

    “After the tragic fire, which sparked just days after the 2017-18 winter season, Sun Valley Resort decided to take the opportunity to rebuild and to create an even better Warm Springs Day Lodge,” the resort wrote on its website.

    Can’t make it on Friday? The preview center will be open through April, with the following schedule:

•    Through Sept. 9, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

•    Sept. 10-30, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
