The Idaho Transportation Department is seeking public input on its draft Long-Range Transportation Plan, called IDAGO 2040. Comments are being taken through April 10.

The plan identifies how future funding, technology, demographics and economics will shape transportation in Idaho by 2040.

Visit itd.idaho.gov/planning and click on the Long-Range Transportation Plan tab to view the draft plan, and an online comment form where people can provide input. Paper copies of the draft plan are available at each ITD district office.

Public meetings will be held at each of the department's district offices on Tuesday, March 26, starting at 6:30 p.m. ITD staff will broadcast a presentation about the draft plan and attendees will be able to ask questions and submit comments. The local District 4 office is in Shoshone at 215 S. Date St.

Anyone interested in listening to the presentation during the public meeting and submitting comments can call 844-740-1264 starting at 6:30 p.m.  The access code is 803-061-105.

The draft plan was developed over a two-year period, and included public meetings with the public, stakeholders and transportation professionals across Idaho. The effort also included an online survey where citizens and staff had conversations about existing transportation infrastructure, future conditions, needs and issues that Idaho can expect as it progresses toward the 2040.

Those with questions about the draft long-range plan or public meetings can contact Margaret Havey at lrtp@itd.idaho.gov or at 208-334-8469. Comments can be e-mailed to lrtp@itd.idaho.gov. or mailed to Idaho Transportation Department, attn: Planning Services, 3311 W. State St., Boise, ID  83703.
