5 p.m. Oct. 10 update: State Highway 75 between Shoshone and Timmerman Junction is now reopened, according to the Blaine County Sheriff's Office. Crews are still working at the scene and drivers are asked to use caution.
4:25 p.m. Oct. 10 update: The Bureau of Land Management is estimating the fire at 20 acres and progression has slowed, according to the BLM Idaho Fire Twitter page. State Highway 75 remains closed due to smoke and fire equipment near the roadway.
4:06 p.m. Oct. 10 update: State Highway 75 is still blocked. Wood River Fire & Rescue interim chief Ron Bateman told a reporter with the Idaho Mountain Express that there are currently 22 fire fighters on scene from Wood River Fire & Rescue, Sun Valley and Bellevue Fire Departments, Carey Rural Fire Department and the Bureau of Land Management, who is now in command. Bateman could not comment on how much longer the road would be blocked.
State Highway 75 is closed as of 2:57 p.m. today due to a brush fire between the Timmerman Rest Area, eight miles south of Bellevue, and Shoshone. The road is currently blocked as firefighters respond to the scene, according to the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
