The American Red Cross and the St. Luke’s Wood River Volunteer Board will host a blood drive on Wednesday, Jan. 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Wood River Medical Center’s Baldy and River Run conference rooms.
“The Red Cross provides about 40 percent of our nation’s blood and blood components, all from generous volunteer donors. But supply can’t always meet demand,” a media release from St. Luke’s stated.
Those looking to donate can speed up the registration process by completing a RapidPass pre-donation and health history questionnaire on the day of the donation. It can be found at redcrossblood.org/RapidPass. A blood donation appointment can be scheduled by calling 800-RED-CROSS.
All donors must be at least 17 and weigh at least 110 pounds.
