A man was transported by helicopter following a single-vehicle rollover accident on Sunday afternoon. The man reportedly had multi-system traumas and is still in the hospital.
According to a press release from the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office, Jason A. Quintana, 39, of Hailey, failed to negotiate a curve in the road while driving northbound on State Highway 75 around 2:45 p.m. on Sunday. Quintana’s grey 2005 Dodge Ram went off the roadway, rolled and came to rest on its roof in a field on the eastside of the highway. He was the sole occupant of the truck and no other vehicles were involved.
Wood River Fire & Rescue Chief Bart Lassman told a reporter with the Idaho Mountain Express on Monday that Quintana was wearing a seatbelt, and that he had multi-systems trauma at the scene, meaning he had several severe injuries throughout his body. Quintana was extricated from the truck and transported via a LifeFlight helicopter to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, where he remains.
