The community is invited to an open house at the Ketchum post office from 1-3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27, to honor longtime Postmaster John McDonald.
The event will celebrate McDonald’s 55 years of federal service, which include three years with the Army. Light refreshments will be provided.
“We couldn’t be more proud of John for his life of public service,” Postal Service District Manager Laura Hubrich said in a Tuesday media statement.
McDonald began his postal career in 1967 as a distribution clerk for the Twin Falls post office and transferred to the Ketchum office in 1969, becoming postmaster in 1973.
