Beginning Tuesday, Jan. 28, an eight-part class will offer families information about brain biology, mental health conditions, treatment options, communications strategies and what it’s like to experience a mental illness.
The course helps family members cope with crises, find balance through self-care and advocate for better treatment and recovery-oriented services for their loved ones, according to a press release from NAMI.
The class will meet in Hailey on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8:30 p.m., and is free to attend. The classes use a structured format covering issues frequently faced by families dealing with mental illness.
