The Ketchum Ranger District and the BLM Shoshone Field Office will host two open house presentations next week on the proposed Bald Mountain Stewardship Project.

The first will be on Monday, Dec. 9, from 4-5:30 p.m. at The Community Library in Ketchum and the second will be on Thursday, Dec. 12, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Community Campus in Hailey.

Representatives from the Ranger District and the BLM will attend to answer questions and discuss the proposed activities.

The open house is being held to get comments and to help the public understand the proposed project regarding an environmental assessment on the shared project to improve forest health within and adjacent to the Bald Mountain ski area. The proposed action is intended to remove insect-infested, diseased and dead trees, improve forest health, increase resilience to disturbance, reduce hazardous fuels and initiate regeneration of forest stands.

A detailed description of the proposal can be found on the project webpage.

For more information on the meetings, contact the Ketchum Ranger District office at 208-622-0091.
