The second presentation of the Environmental Resource Center’s annual Spring Science Series will address Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve today, April 24, from 6-7 p.m. at The Community Library in Ketchum. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Park Ranger Hester Mallonee will give a presentation on volcanism and planetary geology. She will discuss how the volcanism at Craters of the Moon is different from other volcanic systems such as Yellowstone and Mount St. Helens, but how it is similar to volcanism on other planets.
The Spring Science Series is offered in conjunction with the ERC’s Spring Exploration Series, which brings presenters from across the Northwest to all second- and third-grade classrooms in Blaine County during the school day.
