The city of Ketchum is inviting residents and visitors to Town Square to celebrate the start of summer on the longest day of the year. The city’s second annual Summer Solstice bash is planned for Friday, June 21, from 5-9 p.m.
The family-friendly event marks the start of summer and is a celebration of the city’s Dark Sky Community and Dark Sky Reserve.
“This will be a great event to kick off the summer season,” Mayor Neil Bradshaw said. “A chance to connect as a community and celebrate the longest day.”
Some exciting additions to this year’s family events are a bungie trampoline and Robbie Pfunder’s Mountain Bike Trials Stunt Show.
Boise band Bread and Circus will play on the stage at the square. Local food and beverages will be available from KB’s, Sawtooth Brewery, Warfield and Sun Valley Brewing Co.
People can also learn about the city’s dark sky ordinance and lighting tips to help protect the night sky.
