A former Sun Valley Community School student who later founded a film production company has been appointed executive director of the Argyros Performing Arts Center in Ketchum.

Casey Wilder Mott will begin the job June 1.

Mott completed high school at the private school in 1999. That same year, he was a founding member of the inaugural Sun Valley Shakespeare Festival. According to the Argyros, he has maintained close personal and professional ties to the valley’s arts and culture community ever since, most recently by producing the center’s three-day opening showcase.

Mott started working in Hollywood at the William Morris Agency before becoming director of development at Flashlight Films. In 2015, he founded 5B Productions, an independent film production company based in Los Angeles.

“Casey’s commitment to the arts, combined with his deep familiarity with the local community, made his selection an easy and unanimous choice for the board,” the organization stated.

“I hope I bring enthusiasm, experience and a community-centric approach that will build on the organization’s early success,” Mott said. “I’m coming home!”
