The Wood River Valley affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness will put on a series of events next week in conjunction with Mental Health Awareness Week.
The week kicks off Sunday, Oct. 2, with a hike in Greenhorn Gulch, in partnership with the nonprofit Idaho Conservation League. The event starts at 3 p.m., almost four miles up Greenhorn Road at the trailhead.
On Tuesday, Oct. 4, NAMI and The Connection will hold a lunch and a bingo game in Hailey at The Connection, 721 Third Ave. S. The lunch begins at noon.
Wednesday, Oct. 5, will feature a book club and discussion at Iconoclast Books in Ketchum, 671 Sun Valley Road. That event starts at 5:30 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m.
On Friday, Oct. 7, NAMI is partnering with the Animal Shelter of the Wood River Valley to connect residents with shelter pets. That will be held at the shelter, 100 Croy Creek Road west of Hailey, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
On Tuesday, Oct. 11, the organization will hold an event at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden, 11 Gimlet Road south of Ketchum, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will focus on getting gardens ready for the winter.
