On Tuesday, May 23, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Sage School students and the Environmental Resource Center will hold a free educational event that highlights sage grouse, a magnificent local bird species. It will be held at the Wood River Sustainability Center, 308 So. River Street, Hailey.
U.S. Forest Service Wildlife Biologist David Skinner will facilitate a discussion about sage grouse biology, their population and habitat. He will outline how the community can get involved in helping the birds survive. Sage School Head of School Harry Weekes will speak about the importance of avian education.
A stunning photography collection, “A Morning in the Lek” by local photographer Ernie Patricelli, will be on display. The event is open to the public and family-friendly. There will be complimentary appetizers provided by WRSC and beer and wine for purchase. This event is sponsored by WOW-Students.
