The Hailey Planning and Zoning Commission voiced unanimous approval Monday during a design review pre-application for a proposed 16-unit rental apartment complex at 17 W. Silver St.
“This is what we have been looking for,” Commission Chair Janet Fugate said.
The pre-application by partners Kiki Tidwell, Gary Poole and Paul Conrad was conducted for a three-story building that would be called Silver River, at the corner of Silver and River streets in Hailey’s Downtown Residential Overlay District.
Poole, who co-owns the property with Tidwell, said in an interview that he hopes to work with builder Conrad to provide “decent housing at an affordable cost.”
“Kiki approached me and said something needs to be done [about the housing shortage],” Poole said.
