The Hailey City Council will consider approval of plans for an upgrade of a four-block section of River Street tonight at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
The city has conducted public outreach and workshops as it moves toward a reconstruction of River Street between Walnut and Galena streets. The preferred design (alternative No. 1) includes sidewalks and bikes paths on both sides of the street.
Parking for some residences would be removed from city rights of way and relegated to other spaces that would need to be developed on private property. Businesses have expressed concern about how the new street design would impact them.
