Fall registration has opened for fourth- and fifth-graders interested in Science After School, a program at Hemingway STEAM School and Bellevue Elementary School that engages students with the natural environment through outdoor adventures and exploration.
The free six-week program engages students to explore their local environment and engage in hands-on projects related to natural science and sustainability, according to a press release from the Environmental Resource Center. The ERC staff and volunteers will guide students in research, games, journaling and service learning.
The Hemingway STEAM School will offer the program Tuesdays beginning Oct. 15 through Nov. 19 from 2:30-4 p.m. and at Bellevue Elementary School on Thursday beginning Oct. 17 through Nov. 21 from 2:30-4 p.m.
