Sawtooth Valley resident Emmy Blechmann received the Sawtooth National Recreation Area Private Land Stewardship Award during a ceremony at the SNRA headquarters on July 18. According to a press release from the SNRA, Blechmann received the award for working to ensure that development on her property, along Valley Road on the east side of the Sawtooth Valley, is compatible with the values of the SNRA and scenic easement terms and conditions. “Over the years, Emmy has maintained a cheerful and energetic demeanor, and we are very grateful for her partnership and wish to acknowledge and commemorate her contributions,” SNRA Private Lands Administrator Sharon Barnes said. From left are SNRA Ranger Kirk Flannigan, Blechmann, property caretaker Carl Thomas and Barnes. Emmy was presented the award at a Sawtooth National Forest Leadership Team meeting. She was given the award in front of an appreciative audience.
