The polling place for Ketchum’s general election has officially moved from Hemingway STEAM School to The Community Library, at 415 Spruce Ave.

“The decision was made in order to ensure student safety,” County Services Assistant Hayleigh Simpson said, adding that those in Precinct 1 outside of city limits will vote at the YMCA in Ketchum.

Registered voters will be able to cast their ballot on Tuesday, Nov. 5, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. For those not yet registered, Election Day registration is available during early voting, which began on Oct. 15 and will run until Nov. 1 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Old Blaine County Courthouse.

Other pre-registration options—visiting IdahoVotes.gov or visiting the Blaine County Election Office in Hailey—closed on Oct. 11, but the deadline to request an absentee ballot is today, Oct. 25.

All early and day-of voters must present either a photo ID or sign a Personal Identification Affidavit (PIA). Acceptable forms of photo identification include:

  • An Idaho driver’s license or state-issued photo ID.
  • An Idaho concealed weapons permit.
  • A U.S. passport or federal photo ID.
  • A tribal photo ID.
  • A current student photo ID issued by an Idaho high school.

For information on absentee voting, see https://idahovotes.gov/absentee-voter-information/, and for other questions call the Blaine County Elections Office at 208-788-5501.
