Registration for preschool and kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year will take place Wednesday, April 10.

Parents interested in enrolling children at Alturas, Bellevue or Hailey elementary can sign up for preschool and kindergarten at the Community Campus in Hailey from 11:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. that day. Registration for Hemingway’s kindergarten program will take place at the school from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. on April 10, while preschool signups will take place during the same hours on Thursday, April 11.

Prospective kindergarteners must turn 5 by Sept. 1 to start classes, while preschoolers must be 4.

To register, a parent or guardian must present the new student’s original state-certified birth certificate, immunization record and multiple forms of proof that they live in the county. That means two current utility bills or proof of utility service including a written name and address, and one of the following documents listing a physical address in Blaine County:

  • A driver’s license or state-issued ID card.

  • A property tax bill.

  • A current lease agreement.

  • A notarized affidavit signed and sworn from a current landlord or homeowner.

  • An Idaho tax return.

Students who plan to ride the bus must also present daycare information, including name, number and physical address to determine which school the child will attend.

And parents looking to enroll a child in the School District’s preschool program will need to bring income verification in the form of a 2018 federal tax return.

Sign-ups are first-come, first-served. For more information, visit the registration page on the Blaine County School District’s website at
