Tonight at 5:30 p.m., the Hailey City Council will review a plan by FaPo Holdings to demolish two residences at 401 and 407 S. River St. to make way for parking at The Village at Hailey Center commercial building.
An alternate option would be demolition of the Sustainability Center building, a Forest Service building also owned by FaPo Holdings.
City staff have stated in a memo a preference for retaining the Sustainability Center building. According to the memo, the original development plan included demolition of all Forest Service buildings on the site.
“Staff recommends deleting the area development plan in hopes that staff can work with the development team to retain some or all of the Forest Service buildings, which have a well-documented history in Hailey,” the memo states.
