At a City Council meeting on Monday, Bellevue Councilman Doug Brown was unanimously appointed to the city’s Urban Renewal Agency, replacing former agency member Melanie Dahl.
The BURA utilizes funds from a combination of annual revenue, bond proceeds and other sources separate from the city’s budget to implement programs of redevelopment and needed public improvements within the city’s Revenue Allocation Area.
Projects funded by the BURA since its creation in 2006 include the lighted pedestrian walkway at Broadford Road and Elm Street, Christmas decorations for annual tree lighting ceremony, and a current project underway for two Mountain Ride bus shelters on Main Street.
Other board members include Becky Duncan, Jami Sluder and Brian Bourgette. A fifth seat is still vacant. Those interested in being appointed to the seat can contact Bellevue Associate Planner Ashley Dyer at (208) 788-2128.
