The driver of 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle was pronounced dead at the Carey Airport by Wood River Fire & Rescue on Saturday after he collided with a tractor in Carey.

According to a press release from the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a motorcycle-vs.-tractor collision with injuries on Main Street in Carey around 3 p.m. Saturday.

Though the accident remains under investigation, the crash scene indicated that Richard E. Fox, 54, of Bagley, Minn., was riding the motorcycle when he impacted the left rear tire and rim of a 1969 John Deer tractor while trying to pass. The driver of the tractor, Chance J. Molyneux, 33, of Carey, was not injured in the collision. According to the Sheriff’s Office, both motorcycle and tractor were traveling northbound when the incident occurred.

Fox was transported by ground by Carey Rural Fire and Rescue in preparation for air ambulance transport, the Sheriff’s Office stated. According to Wood River Fire & Rescue Chief Bart Lassman, whose department was also on the scene, Fox was wearing a helmet but had “major traumatic injuries from the crash,” which he succumbed to before the air ambulance arrived at the Carey Airport.
