Two men walked away from a serious accident near the Blaine and Butte county line on Highway 26 northeast of Carey last week after one of the men lost control of a 2015 International Harvester semi-truck.

According to Blaine County Sheriff Gene Ramsey, Okubit Gebremichael, 30, of Salt Lake City, was westbound on Highway 26 with another driver, Filimon Ghebrekidan, 30, on Nov. 25 when Gebremichael lost control of the large truck on a turn and collided with lava rock on the right shoulder of the road. The crash occurred during a snowstorm, Ramsey said.

He said the extent of the damage to the truck was beyond repair and both men were unharmed in the accident.
