Carey City Clerk Tess Cenarrusa said Tuesday that no one has put in a declaration of candidacy but she believes all three current council members up for re-election will run again. The three seats comprise two four-year terms and one two-year term.
Councilman George Versis has been serving a four-year term since being elected in 2015, when he ran as an incumbent. In total, Versis has served on the City Council for nine years.
Jon Hoopes, the only person to run for the City Council in 2015 who was not an incumbent, will run again for his four-year seat after beating incumbent Vonnie Olson in 2015.
Lastly, Kristin Cutler, who has been serving a two-year term, will also run again, according to Cenarrusa.
Those interested in running in the November election can pick up an application packet at Carey City Hall on Main Street. The deadline to declare candidacy is Sept. 6 at 5 p.m.
