To usher in the holiday season, the Hailey Public Library will host Friday Flicks, a new family-friendly movie series, each Friday throughout December. All movies are G-rated and start at 4 p.m. Free popcorn will be available and seating is limited.

On Dec. 6, Friday Flicks will feature “The Muppet Christmas Carol,” starring the voice of Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge and the famous Muppet cast. The 90-minute kids classic is based on Charles Dickens’ original story, “A Christmas Carol,” which is about an old and bitter miser’s redemption on Christmas Eve.

The subsequent Friday Flicks schedule is:

  • Dec. 13—“Prancer.”
  • Dec. 20—“The Santa Clause.”
  • Dec. 27—“Frosty the Snowman.”

“We’re delighted to offer this new series of fun holiday movies for all ages,” library Director LeAnn Gelskey said. “We hope it will become a yearly tradition.”
