Caritas Chorale has organized about 100 adults and children for “A Day of Hope and Light.” The event on Saturday, June 2, features a 9 a.m. choral workshop, simultaneous 11 a.m. mini-concerts with various school and community choirs, and the main concert at 2:30 p.m. at the Wood River Performing Arts Theater, at the Community Campus in Hailey.
The mini-concerts will be held: in Ketchum at Forest Service Park, with Hallelujah Chorus with Patty Parsons-Tewson; in Hailey at Jimmy’s Garden (Croy and Second streets), with Colla Voce’ and Max Stimac, and Alturas Elementary students, with Dorinda Rendahl; and at Bellevue Memorial Park, with Enchante’ and B-Tones, with R.L. Rowsey conducting.
Caritas Chorale and Friends will perform a variety of inspirational songs at 2:30 p.m. at the Wood River Performing Arts Theater. The group will be joined by “friends” from the mini-concerts, performing with well-known soloist James Martin, whose artistic repertoire spans from J.S. Bach to bebop. He has sung with major opera companies in the United States and internationally.
“What better than to raise a glass to the art form that we hold so dear while putting the spotlight on the power of hope and light,” Rowsey said.
