The Sawtooth National Forest recently completed the environmental assessment (EA) for the Big Wood Travel Management Plan. A draft decision notice and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) have been completed and are available for review. They can be viewed and downloaded from the Sawtooth National Forest website at the Sawtooth National Forest project webpage, https://www.fs.usda.gov/project.

Hard copies of the documents can be obtained at the Sawtooth National Recreation Area headquarters office at 5 North Fork Canyon Road, north of Ketchum. In addition, a paper copy can be provided to you upon request by contacting the Sawtooth National Recreation Area via telephone: (208) 727-5000, or e-mail: comments-intermtn-sawtooth-nra@fs.fed.us; or by mail at: Sawtooth NRA; Attn: Big Wood Travel Plan; 5 North Fork Canyon Road, Ketchum, ID 83340.

The responsible official with approval authority for these activities on national forest system lands is Kirk Flannigan, area ranger for the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. The project is now subject to the pre-decisional administrative review process and objections will be accepted only from those who have previously submitted specific written comments regarding the proposed project during the opportunity for public comment.

For additional information regarding this decision or the objection process, contact:  Susan James or Robin Garwood, at sjames@fs.fed.us or rgarwood@fs.fed.us, or at 208-727-5000.
