A Blaine County School District bus was involved in a collision with a sport-utility van this morning at state Highway 75 and Ohio Gulch, north of Hailey, officials reported.
The accident is under investigation by the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office. Initial reports from first-responders indicated that BCSD Bus No. 8—at the intersection of the roadways—made impact with a work SUV owned by Ketchum-based cleaning service H Property Services, causing the vehicle to roll onto its roof and land on the west side of the southbound lane of Highway 75.
The Blaine County Sheriff’s Office, as well as fire and ambulance crews, responded to the accident. No students were injured or transported from the scene by ambulance, according to the BCSD, and the students were eventually transported to their respective schools in Hailey.
The status of the driver or occupants of the SUV is not currently known, and the Express will follow up on this story as more details become available. The Sheriff’s Office said it would release additional information at a later date.
