Election Day is coming up on Tuesday, May 15, for primary races for statewide and county elected offices in Idaho.

In Blaine County, polling places will open at 8 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

Early voting is offered at the Old Blaine County Courthouse from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, May 11.

To vote, valid forms of photo identification are required. Those include a driver’s license, an Idaho concealed weapons license, a U.S. passport or federal ID card, a tribal photo ID card or a student ID card issued by an Idaho high school, college or university.

The Democratic Party allows any registered voters to vote in its primary. The Republican Party allows only voters registered with its party. Unaffiliated voters can choose to affiliate with a party on Election Day.

For Republicans in Blaine County, voters can cast ballots in the races for governor, Idaho’s 2nd District congressional seat, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, state controller, state treasurer, attorney general, superintendent of public instruction, state House of Representatives and Senate for Legislative District 26, Blaine County commissioner 1st District, county coroner and nonpartisan judicial races.

Votes for write-in candidates are allowed for the county commissioner 3rd District seat, clerk of the district court, county treasurer, county assessor and precinct committeeman.

Democrats can vote for each of those statewide races aside from state controller and state treasurer, which would need write-ins, as well as county commissioner 3rd District, clerk of the district court, county treasurer and county assessor. They can write in candidates for county coroner and precinct committeeman, and vote in the nonpartisan judicial races.

All voters are allowed to cast ballots in the nonpartisan judicial races for justice of the Idaho Supreme Court, the Idaho Court of Appeals and the 5th Judicial District.

Voters can cast their ballots at the following polling places:

  • Ketchum — Hemingway Elementary School.
  • Sun Valley — Sun Valley City Hall.
  • Hailey — Community Campus.
  • Bellevue — Bellevue Elementary gym.
  • Carey — Carey City Hall.
