A brush fire of unknown origin burned a small area just south of St. Luke’s Wood River hospital on Monday afternoon before it was extinguished by the Ketchum Fire Department. A crew was dispatched at 1:47 p.m. to the location between Broadway Run and the Wood River Trail bike path and were on the scene at 1:53 p.m. Assistant Chief Tom Ancona and two brush engines with four volunteer firefighters controlled the fire with 500 gallons of water, the city of Ketchum reported. No cause was determined for the start of the fire, according to Ketchum Assistant City Administrator Lisa Enourato.
